What Does Vargottama Mean?
The word Vargottama comes from Sanskrit: Varga (division) + Uttama (best). It literally translates to "best division".
In Vedic astrology, a planet is called Vargottama when it occupies the same zodiac sign in both the Rashi chart (D1, the main birth chart) and the Navamsha chart (D9). For example, if your Moon is in Taurus in your birth chart and also falls in Taurus in the Navamsha chart, your Moon is Vargottama.
